Governed Autonomy · run it · mission join

Mission to objective to capability to work type to work item.

The chain that gives every piece of work a line of sight to the mission, the seats in three tiers, KPIs as stop conditions, and the rule that agents go first and people accept.

The KTP mechanism

A ≤ E, read from the top: authority for a work item is derived from the mission's line of sight, never asserted by the worker.

KTP bounds an action by the environment it runs in. The Mission Join bounds it from above as well: a work item serves a work type, which serves a capability, which serves an objective, which serves the mission. If that line of sight cannot be derived, the work has no standing. An objective with no measure reads unknown, never met, and risk is never averaged across the chain.
The working form, from the workbook
Node and edge types for the chain, three seat tiers (mission, business, IT), the rules and gates the join enforces, KPIs whose experience readings are agent stop conditions, and the “agents first” rule: agents execute, humans accept. The worked example's mission, seats, capabilities and KPI rows stay with it; the structure and the column designs travel.
  1. 1 of 5MissionWhat the organization is for; one per join.
  2. has-objectiveEvery objective belongs to one Mission.KG-25 · an objective has an owner seat and a measure

  3. needsAn objective names the capabilities it depends on.KG-22 · line of sight is derived from these edges
3 of 5CapabilityWhat the business can do; relies on IT services.
  4. servesA work type serves at least one capability.KG-24 · a work type with no serves edge is a finding
4 of 5Work typeOne object, one verb, and what must be able to refuse it.
  5. instance-ofEvery work item is one instance of one work type.KG-22 · never an edge straight from a work item to an objective
5 of 5Work itemOne instance of one work type, acting on a service, host, identity or case.
The KPI loop

A KPI measures an objective and is observed by a work type; it is evidence for the work whose effect it informs, and a breach is refusal input to continuation for agent work on the same venue or service (KG-26). A KPI never holds the verifier role.

Read in KTP's terms

Authority flows down the chain and is derived at every step; a work item never asserts its own line of sight. That is A ≤ E read from the top: the mission is the environment every piece of work must fit inside.

Acequia, Inc. is an invented organization. These pages present a working design, not deployment results; its contracted stages and change freezes are illustrative. The sections below mirror the Governed Autonomy workbook (v0.50): its columns, rules, invariants and catalogs, as written, with the worked example's organization named as it is there. The deployment's own rows, parties, contract identifiers and configuration stay with the deployment; where a table's rows stay, its columns are shown.

Acequia is the customer and mission owner. The Acequia organizing unit owns delivery, and Acequia departments sit beneath it. Providers remain separate parties. Party identity is separate from the six join seats: Cyber Security (CYB), IT Operations (ITO), Application Operations (APO), Governance (GOV), Regulatory (REG), and Compliance (CMP).
